Ventana Photography had the privilege of being part of Rachel and Tommy’s beachfront wedding held at the scenic Catamaran Hotel and Resort. They literally kicked off their shoes for this occasion, happily  digging their toes into the sand. What a great alternative to sore feet at the end of the night!

The entire event was marvelously spearheaded by Gina Hundley, owner and lead consultant of San Diego Weddings by Gina. She created a veritable tropical paradise for these two lovebirds, working with the couple to create their dream wedding.

The Flower Girls designed the florals, using lush, rich tropical flowers. I love the bride’s bouquet. It’s so striking with its variety of solid red blossoms against the white and sky blue colors of the bridal party.

Flour Power can be counted on for any theme!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Quapp!

Chasa and Nate gathered family and close friends together for an intimate and simple wedding on the beach in Carlsbad on a blustery November afternoon. Although they battled a few drops of rain, they were rewarded with stunning cloud formations, creating unique wedding  images to remember their special day by.

The supreme happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved. ~ Victor Hugo

Chasa is wearing a lovely gown from David’s Bridal.

What a great image of all the guests forming a tight circle around the bride and groom as they seal their union with a kiss.

The reception was a casual gathering at the Carlsbad Village in the downtown area right off the beach.

This charming cake was baked by dessertier, Michelle Coulon. Its style fitting with the old time feel of the Carlsbad Village.

Guests had fun posing for Scott, who took full advantage of their charismatic personalites.

Love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction. ~ Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Weston!

The Martin Johnson House was the perfect venue for this intimate wedding. This historic cottage sits right on the cliffs overlooking La Jolla Shores and the view is spectacular!

The bride was glowing as she primped for her big day at the Estancia La Jolla Hotel.

Valerie’s dress was designed by Paloma Blanca from Here Comes the Bride.

Shoes by Manolo Blahnik.

The charming and gracious groom…

‘I Like You’ by Sandol Stoddard Warburg was read during the ceremony, a simple story of friendship.

These Lovebirds make a beautiful pair!

One way the couple infused Valerie’s Mexican heritage into the wedding was a traditional Mariachi Band. Celieto Lindo delighted the guests with lively music after the ceremony.

Valerie had a strong vision for the design of the reception. With the help of The Floral Department her vision was brought to life. The guests were given clever and unique gifts of their own particular spice as they entered the dining area. The table setting, with burlap table cloths and delicious smelling herb bundles gave the dining room an earthy and rustic feel. The dinner was catered by Waters Fine Catering.

Jon swept Valerie off her feet with the Bride and Grooms First Dance. They really know how to put on a show!

I was moved by the speech Jon gave to his guests at the reception. He spoke of how he and Valerie went about choosing the guest list. He said they wrote down the names of their family and closest friends…and they stopped right there.

Thank you, Valerie and Jon for letting us be a part of your day. ~ Congratulations!

The beach at the Hotel Del Coronado was the perfect setting for this hip and casual couple. Miriam and Zack showed their fun style as they walked down the aisle decked out in flip-flops and Converse High Tops. The bride and groom managed to find the perfect balance between sophistication and swank by adding touches of simple elegance, as seen in the beautiful rose bouquets arranged by Jdesigns Floral and statuesque cake provided by the Hotel Del. Kelly Aull, from Mint Weddings coordinated the entire event!

The bride’s father infused tradition with a stunning pearl necklace and earring set, purchased when she was just a girl for the day she was to be married. What a special wedding gift that will surely be treasured for years to come! As the day turned to night, the guests were able to sit back, relax by the fire and roast marshmallows as they listened to the rockin’ band, who happened to be the bride’s brother. Now that’s a wedding present! What a beautiful celebration of their love shared by friends and family.

We just booked Jan and Jeremy’s wedding 2 months ago, and since they live in Texas we were anxious to finally meet them. We had a blast with this charismatic, relaxed, and beautiful couple! Jan & Jeremy were married at the beautiful Grand Del Mar Hotel. The intimate wedding took place on a Sunday afternoon, and the day was filled with love and lots of laughter in the photo booth. The flowers were provided by Annette Gomez and the fabulous Chanel inspired cake by the Grand Del Mar. The Mother of the Groom, Lynda designed the stunning decor. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Westerlund!

Kari and Randy were married last Friday at the Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla. The luscious look of the lodge was a perfect setting for this sweet couple. The bride’s stunning lace gown was handmade by a family friend and the bridesmaids were adorable in blue dresses from J Crew. Kendall Floral created a magnificent display of yellow and chartreuse designs throughout the venue. The day was simply beautiful, and perfectly smooth – thanks to the help of Amy Rheinheimer, of Liz Beck Events. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Colley!
