Scott Draper

Crystal and Michael were married in the intimate setting of a relative’s private home right here in San Diego. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, they congregated to celebrate love.

I think this image is my favorite as it captures the pure simplicity of their celebration.  A beautiful bouquet and boutinniere provided by San Diego Wholesale Flowers and Supplies  carefully stored in the fridge.

Congratulations Crystal and Michael! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your day.

Lauri and Gabriel dressed for their big event at the US Grant Hotel in the heart of downtown San Diego.  Photographer Scott Draper captured the cool, classic flavor of the mid 1900’s in this black and white image of Lauri and Gabe posed in the lobby.

They created these beautiful bouquets themselves!

The groom poses…or is it a cast member from Mad Men??

They take a quick pit stop at Mission Beach.

Set in rich landscape and finely manicured gardens, Lauri and Gabe were married at  The Prado Restaurant, at the historic House of Hospitality in Balboa Park.

The event was catered by The Prado Restaurant.

Guests of all ages had fun playing with bubbles as they said goodbye to the newlyweds.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Smith!

You may remember this hip couple from their engagement shoot up in LA a few months ago.  They headed down south this time to tie the knot at the classic La Valencia Hotel, known for its unique architecture and intimate courtyards. Kelly Instone Weddings oversaw all the details on their wedding day as their day of coordinator, allowing the bride and groom to relax and have fun.

Mary’s Creative Florals put together a beautiful array of pink blossoms for the affair, appealing to the bride’s classic and feminine side.

Ornamental iron works were incorporated into the decor in memory of Kimberly’s grandfather, who crafted pieces reminiscent of this one.

Favors were hand made by Sylhouettes by Silvia.

The cake was designed by Michele Coulon Dessertier, complementing the classic pink theme.

Everyone cut a rug to the sounds of Aire Play.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Wason!

Ventana Photography had the privilege of being part of Rachel and Tommy’s beachfront wedding held at the scenic Catamaran Hotel and Resort. They literally kicked off their shoes for this occasion, happily  digging their toes into the sand. What a great alternative to sore feet at the end of the night!

The entire event was marvelously spearheaded by Gina Hundley, owner and lead consultant of San Diego Weddings by Gina. She created a veritable tropical paradise for these two lovebirds, working with the couple to create their dream wedding.

The Flower Girls designed the florals, using lush, rich tropical flowers. I love the bride’s bouquet. It’s so striking with its variety of solid red blossoms against the white and sky blue colors of the bridal party.

Flour Power can be counted on for any theme!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Quapp!

I met  Adria and Erik back in March when they came in for their engagement viewing. We had a wonderful time looking through the photos taken in and around their home and stables where they board their horse, Versace S. Take a peek at the blog post dated 3.29.11.

Their wedding, held at the exquisite  Estancia La Jolla and unparalleled in terms of elegance and beauty, was the perfect backdrop for their affair. Still, the surroundings hold a comfortable atmosphere that fits the style of the couple. With coordinator Mary Noble of Classic Weddings at the helm, every detail of their wedding was perfectly planned and executed. From the stunning floral arrangements provided by Botanica to the detailed and delicious looking  cakes made by Michele Coulon, this was a day to be remembered by all.

What girl wouldn’t want a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes for her wedding day?

The unmistakable styling of Vera Wang purchased from bliss bride.

Erik can’t resist showing a little bit of his quirky style through his footwear!

These guys will definitely get to the church on time!

but just to be sure…

I love the green and orange color scheme, perfect for an outdoor summer wedding.

A perfect candid moment…

A proud father…

Succulents for everyone!

Not to be outdone by the men, the ladies kick their Choos off…

The guests have fun dancing to the beat of the James Gang Band.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Pederson!

Kimberly and Roger met up with photographer, Scott Draper, in Los Angeles last month for their engagement shoot. Wow, is all I have to say. Two locations with two totally different styles leaves me awestruck.

The Walt Disney Concert Hall with its smooth, sleek and silver architecture is ultra modern and ultra cool!

Interesting angles and a fun loving couple gives Scott all the ingredients he needs to create some awesome shots.

Next Stop, Union Station!…

In contrast to the modern look of the concert hall, Union Station is full of rich colors and interesting textures. Its worn , lived in look makes me want to settle in with a good book and a cup o’ tea.

Whether its ultra modern or rich in history, Kimberly and Roger felt right at home in their surroundings…More from this gorgeous couple in August!

Katja and Ron were married at the majestic El Cortez in Downtown San Diego, one of San Diego’s most famous historical landmarks. It opened  in 1927 and since then has had renovations throughout the years, maintaining its cutting edge appeal. In 1940 a sky room was added on top of the original structure, creating fabulous views and a chic experience and the worlds first exterior glass elevator built on a high-rise was constructed in 1956. Its most recent renovation in 2000 modernized the hotel and brought it to its original luster.

Their entire day was superbly coordinated by Julie Scrivener, owner of The Best Wedding For You. Every detail was executed with creativity and the day ran smoothly from beginning to end. Photographer, Scott Draper, in his usual fashion, caught every moment .

Florals, including these darling bundles of roses for the bride and bridesmaids, were inspired by Classic Creations

The guys pose in front of Ron’s exotic car collection.

The reveal took place in Balboa Park with pre-wedding photos following.

Magician, Nick Ivory, amazed guests with his illusions.

Food was provided by  Giuseppe Catering in La Jolla.

Dr.Ron and Katja had a little fun with the cake “cutting”…scalpel!

Guests let loose to the sounds of Elite British DJ, arranged by Mick Scrivener.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Mathiasen!
